THANK YOU! We raised an incredible £28,264 for Smile4Wessex which includes Simplify’s £4£ match finding for our charity partner of 2023 who supports the amazing work by the Wessex Neurological Centre.
These funds have contributed towards a second video telemetry bed which would facilitate the development of adult epilepsy surgery. This service is one of the flagship services of the Wessex Neurological Centre, serving the population of Southampton and the region. The remainder will go towards funding the Stealth Autoguide Surgical Robot which will transform epilepsy surgery. The Stealth Autoguide Robot allows implantation of invasive electrodes to be inserted into the brain to identify patients’ suitability for surgery. Epilepsy is the most common serious neurological condition affecting at least 30,000 people in Hampshire and Dorset.
